Giving Back

Adoption is close to Nicole’s heart – her youngest daughter and son were both adopted from China.  Many of her friends have adopted their children as well.

Nicole knows all too well how important it is to professionally document the fleeting moments in the first few months of a new adoptive family. Feeling the strong need for professional portraiture in the adoption community, she helped to found Red Thread Sessions – a group of volunteer photographers across the U.S. that donate their time & talent to new adoptive families. Participating Red Thread Sessions photographers completely waive their session fee and selflessly donate their time to photograph family sessions, airport homecomings, and births (in the case of open adoptions).

If you or someone you know has recently adopted or is in the process of adopting, please visit Red Thread Sessions’s WEBSITE to gather more information about the types of services available. And if you are in the Baltimore metropolitan area, contact Nicole to discuss how she can help document this special time. Nicole offers a completely complimentary family portrait mini-session resulting in 10 high-resolution digital images for new adoptive families to print and share as they please. (The portrait session must be scheduled within 3 months of the adoption finalization.) She can’t wait to congratulate you and help celebrate with your family through custom portraiture!

Dear Nicole, what an amazing idea you have created – this is terrific! Kudos to you. I was given your name and contact information from my friend, Lauren Kolson Kirchner. My husband, Adam, and I hope to be home-study approved the first or second week of December so we are just beginning our adoption journey but I still wanted to reach out to you now. We would love to take advantage of this service when the time comes – how do we proceed? Thank you in advance! Take care, Eden
