I’m coming out of hibernation to share precious Elizabeth with you this morning! This sweet baby girl weighed a whopping 6lbs at our session and was 8 weeks old! She was born prematurely and had quite a dramatic entrance into the world, but she is a miraculous survivor! I wasn’t sure what to expect with an 8-week-old, but she was an absolute delight to work with. Her Daddy is the new youth minister at our church, and her mama will be giving my children music lessons in the fall. It was an honor to work with them and celebrate their daughter’s birth!
I had the pleasure of seeing this little sweetie again after her newborn session in the winter! Mom and Dad asked me to work with their daughter for a 6- and 12-month session also, back when they first hired me. We had a great morning and finished up right as the rain was coming in. Little L. was the last newborn I photographed, so it was really fun for me to see how much she’s grown! And how happy she is! What a sweet, happy girl! She didn’t cry once and was such a delight to be with. I can see why her parents have such a big twinkle in their eyes whenever they talk about her. It was a fantastic morning!
It is always a true honor to celebrate another family built through the miracle of adoption. But when that family is one of your dearest, dearest friends, the celebration is even sweeter. I have been so privileged to be a small part of precious N’s journey to his forever family, all the way from China. Participating in the preparation, the waiting, the prayer, more waiting, the send off, and the reunion at home with family and friends was such a blessing to me. And seeing all of the pictures of their time in China made me jump for joy and praise God (ok and it made me a teeny bit jealous too). E. Family, I am so happy for you. God clearly knew what He was doing when He put the five of you together.
I met this precious baby girl last Saturday, and she was perfect for me! She was a great sleeper while we worked, and I had an awesome time chatting with Mom & Dad too. Mom said she wanted girly-girl for the session, so that’s what we went with. Lots of pink! I had so much fun dressing up this little sweetie, especially because I am going to be taking a bit of an extended break.
Since bringing our new son home, it’s become clear that I need to take more time away from work. Although it’s bittersweet for me, my family always comes first and I know it’s the right decision! I’m not going anywhere long term, but to best serve my family I’m going to take some more time off. If you are a prospective client, please still email me to find out if I’m taking on new sessions! Thanks everyone for your support!
